Papers of John A. Winfield, 1794-1894.

Items include a printed letter, 1848 July 10, from John S. Davis, Recording Secretary, University of Virginia Alumni Society; two checks, 1863 February 10 and 1864, drawn on the account of B.M. Parham with the Bank of the Commonwealth, Richmond, Va. Included also is a receipt, 1872 September 12 for a contribution to the Sussex R.A. Chapter No. 24 of the Grand Chapter of Virginia; and an application, 1894 September 5, for a Sussex County, Va., physician's license. Remaining items are an inventory and appraisement, 1862 December 23, of the estate of William Winfield, and a bill of sale, 1794 April 9, William Loften to John Mason, both of Sussex Co., Va., for a young slave named Isham.
